I have not posted a training journal for around a week as things have been all over the place.
Let me explain.
Not in a bad way – it’s just that over last week and this coming week we have so much going on.
Jo was power lifting just this weekend and Debs is in a figure show this coming weekend so to make sure things fall in place for them the training structure has been different.
Dino Bodyweight Day
Strap Press Ups 3 x 15
Strap Pulley Rows (I have a pulley device) 3 x 10 each arm
Rows Straps 3 x 15
Close Press Ups 3 x 15
One Leg Squats 3 x 10
Sissy Squats 3 x 25
Instead of doing heavy legs we covered just chest for Debs. We will then do legs Monday back Tuesday and shoulders and arms Thursday. She will rest then till Sunday.
While we did chest Jo just tested her squat shoes and generally loosened up for Sundays meet.
Abs 6 sets
Calves 6 sets
Excited by my gains in size and condition of my calves through running hills. I whacked them hard here today. The seated calf raise machine looked like something made out of maccano -but –bloody hell- it was awesome.
Writing this now – here on Monday my calves are still very sore.
Bench Press 80kg 3 x 5
Incline 12 – 8 – 6 at 70kg
Nautilus Pec Deck 3 x 15
Notes on that week
I still kept all other baselines the same.
Food bang on walks 2 hours a day, I also run 3 mile- three times in this week.
Gym Dickies Batley
Had a right head on today, really wanted to dig in deep, and we did.
Deb’s last leg session and I have to take my hat off to Jo doing all this today after yesterdays meet.
Motivated to high heaven I tried to kill the girls but it backfired.
Sat here now I am buggered ha ha.
I have said it before and I will say it again. Girls have a pain threshold and a recovery rate between sets that’s up there, and I felt that today.
Leg Curls 3 x 15 drop set on last set
Leg Extensions 20 reps – add up 15reps- add up 10 reps – then drop 10 reps -drop 5
Leg Press (a real old school one)
3 plates aside 20 reps – 4 plates aside 20 reps 5 plates aside 20 reps
Hack Squat (again another old school one weight is on you not machine) 80kg 3 x 12
Legs pumped up so much I could hardly move so ….
Let’s squat now ha ha
Squats 100kg 3 x 5 at this point this was hard
At Dickies there are some very old mill steps that are hard to navigate without having trained legs.
I had to really hold on and take it slow when leaving today
Jo fell down the last few – tut.
We have a back session in the morning -without dead lifts as Jo did 145kg on Sundays meet – so we will just do a basic back one.
Play it by ear till all the shows and stuff is sorted out.
